i just got a greddy catch can and i heard since they arent baffled to open it up and run a loofa sponge in it or a piece of steel wool? if so do i just pop off the top and put either of them in there?

i was thinking about running one of them strait to my pvc and the other, i want to drill a hole and add a fitting on my valve cover to vent it. any suggestions??

yes you can run a loofa to help catch some of the oil and crap

 

get some stainless steel material, steel wool is crap, and leave the loofa in your girl's shower where it belongs.

does the loofa not work well? will it deteriate (spelling??) what kind of stainless

They make stainless steel cleaning pads. They are much made from larger coils, not tightly packed like steel wool. Also steel wool will rust. Not good.

You want something like this:


Make sure you loosen it up a little so its not tightly packed.

where can that be found?

what about those scrubber things at the grocery stores that are made for scrubbing pots and pans?

 

I use the "lofa" shower puff thing and it works awesome

On a sidenote, DO NOT get into a tug of war with one of those. (i.e. it gets caught on something). You will lose. Badly.

The thing i posted is not steel wool. Steel wool is just a mat of metal fibers. It will
rust, and and is not what you want.

What i posted is another type of cleaning pad. However its made out of stainless
steel coils. Its what you want.

Remember to loosen it apart a little. You dont want it packed in there.
Its not rocket science. Its just something for the oil to condense on. You could
easily use many different things. You want something with a lot of effective area,
that will not impede air flow that much.

thanks 4 the clear up, so can that be found at a grocery store or wal-mart? so look for a cleaning sponge that has steel coils

I have been using a loofah in my catch can for about 12.5 months and it hasn't detiorated yet. Good stuff

looks good, i bought this stuff today called "wire mesh sponge" it looks like the picture above but its much more flat instead of round, like imgine if u smashed the pic above with a big hammer for a while, how do i know if its stainless steel??

I've got the old-skool Greddy catch can which doesn't open up at all; totally sealed except for the fittings. should i even tamper with it and try to stuff anything in there?
