Default Log vs. Tubular

Ok, so I'm currently in the middle of amassing parts to turbo the H22 thats in my 92' Civic sedan. I've kind of come across a dilema, I'm growing impatient as I save for a LoveFab mini-me equal length manifold. I'm thinking about just buying a cast manifold. The plan is to run 7 psi on a T3/T4 .50 trim and I'll settle for nothing less than 300whp.

Is this possible?

Currently my parts list sits at:
Garrett T3/T4 .50 trim
Walbro 255lph Hi-pressure
DSM 450cc injectors
TiAL 38mm wastegate
3" x 12" x 26" FMIC
3" downpipe
3" charge piping
TiAL 50mm BOV
P28 w/ Hondata S300

Also I'm torn on what thickness headgasket to run, I know stock is .026 and I've heard .030 is best. It'll be a Cometic MLS. By running a thicker gasket it won't lower the compression much, right? I mean what I lose N/A could easily be made up for with boost?

Also running ARP headstuds, Skunk2 Ti-series adjustable cam gears, AEM fuel rail, ACT-Clutch and streetlite flywheel. I'm going all stock block, replacing headgasket, water pump, timing and balancer belts, Skunk2 intake manifold, and converting to H23 manual tensioner. Basically I just want to try and squeeze about 300whp out of it for daily driving and maybe like 350whp or so for owning some ***.

Any help is appreciated.

Looks nice, but Inline Pro only makes B series manifolds.

You wont make 300 with a log, at 7psi, I can gaurantee that.
Another thing, u might wanna get some bigger injectors, stock h22(jdm( ones are 345 cc.

Why would you gurantee that ? We had a car making 296hp on a gsr engine running 7psi

who give a damn what PSI you are running if your goal is 300hp. i would get bigger injectors though. stick with the log if you are on a tight budget, for 300hp why waste the money?

The guy acted like hitting 300hp on 7psi was not going to happen, when it can. The OP wants to run 7psi, so I'm letting him know 300hp won't be to hard. My point was log manifolds are not bad, I have seen people making over 400hp with them.

Yea sure I could run enough boost to make 300whp but I guess what I'm shooting for is efficency. I don't want to have to run like 10 psi to make 300whp when I've seen other do some on 7psi, ya know? Plus I've heard stock block H's can only handle so much boost.

not with his setup it wont, I have an h22, topmount , 1000 cc, etc, We hit 300 at 7psi,
that gsr is impressive

Well seeing that an h22 has about 10-20 more hp then a gsr, I would assume the h22 would come close. I know, h22 is not a gsr engine but he should still get pretty dam close.

JDMRice, aren't you on ClubCivic? I sent you a PM about your top mount manifold. That manifold is badass .I think I'm just going to wait it out and buy the LoveFab Mini-me EQ. I tried to get them to make me a top mount but I have a 38mm wastegate and they recommended I get a 44mm, and I just bought it so I'm not about to sell it for another.

So what kind of changes am I going to need to make with my setup to meet my goal?

Not to jump in and say everyone can do it but, One Fabs H22 put down over 540whp on the stock block. Tuned properly your H22 should easily make 300whp. Who cares if you have to run a few more psi to make 300hp? Honnestly it isnt that big of a deal as long as the engine is tuned right. Whoever told you that the H22 couldnt handle that much "psi" doesnt really know what they are talking about because psi is irrelevant due to the fact that every turbo is different and flows different amounts of air. I could run 22psi on a 14B and make X amount of power and then throw on a T3/T4 and run 8psi to make the same X amount of power. If nothing is pushing your build I would recomend waiting for the $ for the mini me.
Thats just me tho. Cody makes nice Logs, I would know Ive ran one for quite some time and even had warrenty work done on it. For lifetime warrenty.

I've decided to save the money and buy the Mini-Me, two more weeks and I'll be ordering it.

I've been looking into the B & M CommandoFlo FPR, but I've searched and found that combined with the Walbro 255LPH Hi-pressure pump that it causes the car to idle at like 44 psi, anyone had a similar problem and/or recommendations to fix it? I almost bought one but decided to get some input first.

if you don't know at this point how PSI IS NOT RELATED TO ENGINE LONGEVITY then you need to do some searching.

Is there a particular FPR that anyone here would recommend?

I'm kind of wanting to shy away from having to build alot of fuel lines, because those tend to add up in cost. I'll do what I have to do to get it mounted though.

I've heard good things about Aeromotive.

AEM makes one that will work on the stock rail.

People have always had some issues with virtually every FPR out there, AEM and B&M have diphram issues, cheappies leak, etc. The one from Synapse doesn't even use a diaphram, is adjustable from 1:1 to like 10:1 or so, and isn't much more than an AEM. I suggest just getting a pressure gauge, assuming you're going to use some EMS. With an adjustable EMS, all you need to know is the fuel pressure, since the stock one won't flucuate. We've just been brainwashed that FPR's are needed, since thats the only inexpensive way to increase fuel on a bone-stock unchipped ecu.

SO are u telling me 22psi on a stock motor will run for a long time, and make power?

I've already got a on rail B&M fuel pressure gauge, and I've got a virgin P28 ECU to get sent off to Hondata for S300. Shouldn't I be able to lengthen injector pulse to increase fuel pressure all while on the stock regulator?
