Default Little bit of rad fan help needed please

Im running a turbo ls vtec and dont have enough room for the stock fan. Im not having any overheating problems with the stock fan but i need something thinner i was probably going to get the 13" spal puller but my main question is will it keep my engine running at least the same temp as my stock fan without a shroud or do i absolutly need a shroud?

It might be ok but you should really use a shroud. You really don't want to find out the hard way that it's not enough...blasting the heat on a hot summer day sucks

pullers are better than pushers. i have the spal 13" on my car and temp will start to slowly creep up during long drives on the highway on hot days. car stays right at 185* any other time. i am adding a shroud and turbo blanket shortly to hopefully avoid running the heater in the summer.

it has alot to do with your intercooler. my pwr takes up the entire grill and really blocks airflow. with the bumper off i can drive all day and stay rock solid in the 185-190 area.

i turn on the heat or pull the bumper before i see 200* (yes im paranoid). im thinking it would just continue to rise because at the point the heatsoak and lack of airflow is overpowering the fan

they say that the spal 13in puller fan is much better than oem...

i recently bought a FAL fan with shroud for my car.(same issue as you)...

if im not lazy fabbing a custom shroud, would def get the spal...

the whos,who swears by it...

goodluck

220 is too hot IMO. pull the bumper off and see what kind of temps you are getting then.
