thanks for any info

1764.549cc

1.764549 liters

Got sleeves?

heres the equation for future reference.
bore x bore x stroke x 3.1416 = displacement
then move the decimal.

Don't forget that as bore size increases and piston dome displacement stays the same, your compression ratio will increase. You won't have to mill off as much as you think if the stock chamber size is kept and the piston dome is not expanded.

mtndewred: Anything is possible with a sleeved block.

turbosales: It's actually (bore/2) * (bore/2) * (stroke) * 3.1415. If you don't half the bore, you are using the diameter of the bore and not the radius. Area of a cylinder = pi * (radius) ^2 * height

im sorry, but the equation is
bore x bore x stroke x pi (around 3.1416) for a 4 cyl motor and you would divide by 4 to find the volume per cyl.
when i work your equation out, its not coming thru...

by the way, i know there is tons of different ways to find this out, i just feel this is the easiest. i know people that use pi/2 in their calculations.?.?

lol new post, different ways of figuring engine displacement.

Yeah, there are tons of ways. Arturbo has some ultra simple one. I think our calculations are working out different because mine does it in cm and yours does it in mm. Mine gives volume per cylinder and yours gives it for the entire engine.

Ie, 79mm bore and 90mm stroke = 7.9cm bore and 9.0cm stroke per cylinder

(7.9/2)^2 * 9.0 * 3.1415 = 441.137cc per cylinder

4 cylinders = 1764.549cc

Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Yours is simpler though.

What's the max you could sleeve a D block to if you were building it for boost?

So how much do you think the CR would increase with a 79mm bore?

Assuming I'm going with a 8.5:1 piston.

If you have a 75.5 mm bore and the dome/dish volume of the piston is ~-5cc (about the what the ZC rollerwave piston is), your compression ratio is ~8.42:1 with the stock headgasket (.048").

If you go to 79mm with the same dome/dish, the compression ratio jumps to 9.05:1. You need to find out if the dome/dish configuration is changed when the piston is custom made to be that big.

Yeah....I'm going to email Endyn in a few hours and see what they say.

That would be perfect if it will increase compression a full .5:1.

Now would shaving the head be any different now?.....Like the .02" would result in a 1/2 pt of CR increase with a stock bore, but would that concept stay the same if the bore has been enlargened?

I hope you're not boosting with those 79mm sleeves! GE reccomended a MAX with their 'zilla sleeves of 78mm for boost which is why I played it safe with 77mm myself. 79mm just doesn't leave you enough meat to boost on!

I guess I'm going with 77 then....
