Default limits of stock internal Ls with boost

I was considering a Ls turbo in my Ek hatch and I was wondering what amount of Psi it could handle with decent tuning. I was considering about 8 psi. My B16 had about 10 psi and it wasnt tuned so it blew up. I was also considering ditching the Ls for a B16 because I thought the head flow was that much better and mnake up for extrs torque.

Honestly man, the ls can be built just a strong and make much better #'s then a b16. Sure a b16 head flows better, but thats much more crucial for N/A purposes. With the turbo kit, tuning is the key, plenty of stock ls's run 10psi and above all day with proper tuning. Not to mention the time and $ your going to waste to go with the b16, you can start a good build on the ls.

Defintely go with a B16/GSR/ITR motor if you can. Having a better flowing head and shorter geared tranny is defnitely worth it.

The LS head and LS tranny are worthless if you ask me. All the high horsepower hondas run vtec heads. To answer your question on how much an LS can handle, about 300whp give or take with good tuning.

Running a completly stock B18B bottom end that has seen 350 whp+ and 20 psi with no problems.

If the B16 head is still in good shape, consider an LS/VTEC if your looking for torque, thats one of the reasons I did it...
