Default Lets talk about daily driven boost...

Ok guys, looking to you for advice!! I have a 00 ex coupe with 90k on the clock. I was looking to get some more power out of the car for obvious reason. The easiest solution seems, boost. Can i retain a daily driveable vehicle if i boost my car? Am i looking at running about 6 lbs and still being completely reliable as a DD? Any input or info would help. Thanks alot.

Mike

Again...psi doesn't mean anything. For a D series, most guys tend to stop in the 220-240whp range. D series rods are as thin as toothpicks and the weakpoint in the stock engine. If you want to upgrade, look more into a Vitara/Eagle setup.

so to run 180-200 flywheel HP on a daily driven D series with stock internals is completely doable?

200-220 wheel horsepower is doable on a stock block...people have made more on stock, but if this is a DD, i wouldnt risk it.

Absolutely. Just don't be gay and skimp on tuning.

****, a local tuner around here dailys his stock D series with over 250 hp.

I would say the pistons are the weakest point.

I've had a greddy kit on my daily for over 6 years running @11psi. Dynoed at 220hp. All was well until last year when I accidentally put cheap gas in it and blew the ring lands out of it.

Whichever setup you go with....PLEASE for the love of HONDAS....do not install that SSAutochrome CRAP in your car. I know there are people out there that would like to back up this sh*tty company. Their products are as worthless as those ripoff car audio stuff you find at the local flea market. Don't waste your hard-earned money on this junk!!!!

So good it needs to be quoted twice. It's better to wait a little longer if you have to and spend the extra money now vs have **** fall apart or worse, blow your **** up and then have to spend even more money to replace the shitty parts.

Awesome thank you guys. I know there are places to get tuned around Charleston or Charlotte. I need to piece together some stuff tho. Plus, i dont think my stock clutch is going to hold very well so I was thinking of getting a more beefy clutch too. Any particular recomendations on brands, or things i should use. Ex, dsm injectors, used turbo of a stock car? Got any good website or even turbo setups for sale?

thanks...Schister66 and 1158. I'm just speaking the truth because I know of people who blow their money on those crappy products. In the end, they bug me asking why their shiet runs and looks like crap. Take this from me, "How much money has to be wasted to get shiet right the FIRST TIME?!" Saving $75 on a copy-cat HKS blowoff will come bite you later on when that crap breaks in half.

Remember....boost leaks = NO F**KIN BOOST!!!
