Just got my SC34
I just got in my SC34 and was having second thoughts. Yeah its a little late for that, BUT it was my first instinct. IM going to be running this on a stock B16 hoping for 300whp. Thats all i want for now, but in a few months I will rebuild the block and expect to make 400whp on pump at no more than 20psi. Possible? It'll be a GSR block sleeved to 84mm. I chose this over the SC61. I did my research and 80% of you guys said that the SC61 was too damn big, yet i am seeing so many people making good numbers. Would an SC34 be a little TOO responsive once i get that new block on?

Re: Just got my SC34 (1SlowSi)
you'll be happy...on my stock LS I saw 10psi at about 3800-4000 rpms. You'll have so much more breathing room up top and that turbo will pull til redline
there will still be some lag, so it shouldnt feel 'too responsive', and if it does feel too responsive....great!

Yah, theres no chance it will be too responsive.

Re: Just got my SC34 (Boltz)
yeah i threw in that responsive comment because alot of people like that extra lag in the low end so they're not spinning all over the place. Thats a good point in the breathing of the turbo, cause in most cases the guys with the SC61's arent using anywhere near the full potential of it with a B16 or mild B18.

I have a sc34 that im going to be installing pretty soon. I think you made a good choice. If you check out the efficiency maps for this turbo you will see that you dont get into the meat of its efficiency till 18+ psi. You have plenty of room to work with. Plus I've hear nothing but good from people about the sc34=t3/t4e .63AR

Re: Just got my SC34 (CalGSR99)
Yea thats what i got. .63/.60. From what ive heard, the SC34 is no little bitch, and is by no means a small turbo. true? we'll find out in a month once i get outta this shithole in the middleeast! GOtta pay off the turbo setup somehow right?? haha.
