Default Just did a Compression Test.=(

Ok I just a compression test on my Junkyard Z6. I put it in my car and after a few complications I got it running. Well yesterday it started to run like ****. Missing at idle and then it starting to overheat. And every once it a while it will blow white smoke. Headgasket I was guessing??? Well the #'s from the test
1-150
2-170
3-210
4-150
And while testing #3 there ended up being water in the hose going to the gauge. ****. And then while testing #4 water was spitting up out of #3. Bad headgsket cracked sleeve? Any ideas?

i don't think you melted a piston because the numbers would be a WHOLE lot less... when my buddy melted a nice hole in his piston (turn the nice round piston into a 3/4 circle haha), the numbers were 0, on the other piston that was bad, there was only a small hole that was melted, the results were the same. O.

Since your car overheats, im close to 100% positive you have a blown headgasket. Your car would be billowing smoke and probably not running if you cracked a sleeve.

Yeah I am going for just a Blown headgasket. I will proably tear down both the Z6 and the Y8 I got and get the Y8 head resurfaced and put it ont the Z6 block. ARP Headstuds too!!! What is the deal with using copperspray on the headgasket?

im quite scared to even do a compression test on my engine.... i have a feeling imma find some low #'s. headgaskets already going bad, leaking/burning coolant.

good luck in ur case. if u got the Y8 out... might as well rebuild it....

I think those numbers are too high to be anything other then a blown headgasket. Worst case would be rings, but I doubt it. Good luck!

Yeah I am hoping it is just the headgasket. I guess I will find out this weekend. Also where is the best place to find ARP head studs?
