Default JRSC Problem

I have a jrsc on my gsr and recently its been acting weird. When I start boosting with the peddle mashed it starts bucking, but once it gets into vtec it stops and pulls normally. The weird thing is after a while it completely stops and runs fine. I've gotten colder plugs and that didn't help, so I bought thicker plug wires and that stopped it for a few days. Now I'm having the same problem. I have no idea what I could be. It seems like an ignition problem to me so the only thing left to do is get a new cap and rotor. What do you guys think. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA.

pretty much stock except for I/E. Clutch is stock. It only has 50000 miles on it and the blower's only been on for 6000 miles. it's not wheel hop the car just starts jerking.

stock fuel pump, just the fuel pressure riser that was included in the kit. I don't think it's detonating. I can't hear it and the plugs look pretty tan.

you wont be able to hear detonation while driving. My guess its something fuel related, the FMU's suck ***, go w/ hondata and bigger injectors.

what I can't understand is why it will do it for a while and then stop after I've been driving for a while, and then after it sits for a while the **** starts again

who knows, it could be a change in ambient temp, humidity, and maybe the fmu is just getting stuck wide open.

Check the fuel pressure while under boost, it should be around 80lbs under 6/7 pounds of boost. Check the plugs too, gap them at .028 and try that, try the basics , fuel filter, fuel pump, plugs, cap and rotor.
Good Luck!

I strongly disagree with CRVRX. Fuel pressure under full boost should be at least 90psi. With the JR FMU, it is probably at a nice safe 100psi.

Also, gap your plugs to .038", not .028".

To add to Greg's sentiments, you cannot run that kind of fuel pressure with the stock pump! Honda fuel pumps have an internal bypass valve that prevents them from pushing more than 75 psi of pressure. Upgrade that pump!
