how can you tell if the bearings in the blower are bad, or going bad? is there a certain sound to look for? i would assume it'd sound like shaking a can full of nuts and bolts. my supercharger was makin a similar sound (nothing too bad just a little rattle at idle) and when brought the car to the shop that installed it for me, i was told the blower was on its way out. and as i was inspectin it i noticed i needed to change the belt. so i did and now that rattle has disappeared. any ideas?
It will start to make a grinding sound and eventually the rotors will contact the inside of the case, essentailly destroying the blower. Take the belt off and check for smooth rotation and any play in the pulley. If there is any play at all, send the blower to Magnuson to get fixed.
Needless to say, you don't want to be driving around on it if it is starting to go. If the rotors contact the case you could get metal shavings into the engine itself, destroying a lot more than just the blower.
Get it fixed

thanks for the reply. when i changed the belt i turned the blower and it seemed fine, no noise an no unusual movement. i'm just wondering why the noise disappeared after i changed the belt. i really don't think there's anything wrong with it. i don't know what that noise was but it's not there anymore. at least i know what to look out for. jackson would charge about $300 if i send it to them, how much would Magnuson charge?
thanks again.
thanks again.

I like the JRSC but hate the ridiculous upcharge on **** that Jackson essentially just re-badges.
