Default JR-What do I do

Hey guys. I am new to Forced Induction. I searched high and low on JR site and on here but can't find the answers to my questions. I have a 5th gen Lude. Base model. I am about to buy the JR Supercharger kit for it, but I have a problem. I don't know what comes in that kit. Like, do I need to order extra parts to make it all work, or does the kit include everything I need ?

Basically I have a stock 2000 Base Prelude. What do I need to buy and what do I need to do, to supercharge it with JR Supercharger. As far as I know it's the only SC available for my Lude.

thnx

EDIT: I know I need CAI, Header, Catback. I am just wondering only about the kit.

please reconsider your choice!! if you have ever worked on a prelude with a JRSC you will understand why i say that. not only that they are no where near as fun to drive, make as much power, as fast, or reliable as a simple turbo set up. not to mention every one i have ever had on the dyno constantly has problems with the belt slipping.

Not only belt slippage, but belt configuration is horrible on H22's. The blower is cramed in there, and installation is a pita. Go turbo on this one Dude

Hmm thanks for letting me know about the belt problem. To answer your question about the SC instead of a turbo: it's becuase mainly I'm not interested in gaining 300whp. I just want something with a little more punch to it, and want it to be reliable to be a daily driver. I don't know much about forced induction, but isn't a SC at 6psi, easier on my motor rather than a turbo with 6psi. I will be installing the kit on my daily driver. Don't realy need super whp , just something that's fun and ejoyable to drive.

and there kit would work great or your car you would make good power thats reliable and also you have the potential to make more power down the road and all so the price diffrence is not that big between them

this thread has all kinds of misinformation in it lol

superchargers are not always in boost

jrsc's are not intercooled. any turbo kit you have is most likely going to be intercooled, IAT's will be MUCH lower, therefor much safer.

I guess lilintegra was just suggesting that power delivery comes in quicker on an SC than a turbo. An acquaintance of mine's got a turbo'd B16, but the way I drive (DD, idle ->3k-4k rpm and back again), the JRSC kit on my D16 felt much peppier. When he gets into his car, and drives it onto an onramp, WOW - that B is a monster when you wind it out.

Good point on the IAT's - didn't even think about that.

If I ever get enough saved to buy a used NSX, I'm turbo'ing that beeyatch.

Like Joe said, a turbo at any boost level will be safer because of the intercooler. On the H22 using a jrsc there is no intercooler available. The intake temps on a jrsc car should be around 180 deg +. On a turbo your temps could be as much as 100 deg lower and the knock/detonation threshold is much lower. And like I said before, H22 jrsc's are a bitch to work on, and have bad clearence issues.

Coming from a previous supercharger guy... go turbo!
