Havent recieved it yet, but Javier sent me pics and tracking #.
One thing...can somebody please try to find out what the serial # on the second picture down is? I have a feeling it might not be the same. If it is, looks like I will be getting a good block
If not, then I might have suffered the same fate as alot of other people...
holy **** batman he is right ...
hmmm...sounds like somethin Javier would do
somethings just better left unsaid
Cant make chicken soup outta chicken **** ..thats for sure

I think they are the same, unless he found a block with very similar starting and ending digits.
However, i fear that the least of your worries is whether his pictures match the real world -- but rather that you're getting a JG block in general.

Sorry man but the block in the full picture is a decked b16a2!!! different than that b18c1 code!!

That's definately a B18A1/B1 block. Definately pre '96 either way
Here is a '96 B18B1 block, You'll notice the oil passages are exactly the same:

I'm just saying I've seen a lot of shoddy JG blocks. Some seem to come out OK though.
I think it all depends on whether the tech that assembled it has assembled a motor before.

Before he sent the motor to me, I "reminded" him of all of the horror stories that I had heard...made reference to his "1" post, here on HT. I told him that if he wants to get any kind of reputation back, then he better get my block done right...
He replied and said that he "cant wait to prove everyone wrong." we will see i guess huh?
oh a different not, I have come to the conclusion that the serial #s are completely different. I went into Photoshop, and did some stuff....I dont think they are the same at all
Anybody have any software that can clear up shitty pics like this???

I looked at it in photoshop and the JPEG compression really mutilates the code. You can't tell either way. The last digit is a 9 though. I don't see why he would bother giving you one wrong picture -- he could just send you some other block regardless of pictures.

true...he said that before the block leaves, each one has pictures taken of the block and serial code, and documented to that specific customer. If thats the case, then Im very scared because if he isnt taking the pictures of MY exact block, then whats he hiding???

better, my lappy doesnt have photoshop on it...can you zoom this pic in a little bit? if itll help anyway...
This one you can see the outlines of the numbers...kinda
I dunno in the distant block pic, it looks like the last two numbers were taken off and the close-up looks like they were restamped...
Just my opinion though
