Jet pack! check this out!
actually it was quite successful. just not practical. it used a chemical reaction instead of a turbine engine to generate explosive amounts of thrust. a similar system is used on the space shuttle for the orbital maneuvering system for precision maneuvers like docking with the ISS.
Doesn't anyone on here watch the discovery channel or SciFi.
There was one on there a couple years ago that was just a lil bigger than
"the rocketeer's" jet pack. I think he got about 10-15 mins of use out of it. Pretty awesome, I think.
Does anyone remember seeing the one NASA had, from the early 80's, it was kinda like a flying chair. The thing mus have weighed 300 lbs.
Here's one for the guy who is shelling out the kind of money that it takes to do that.
