I have read about issues with the Wiseco's failing above 600whp also, supposively the pins are weak and the skirts are weak too. I run them too at 81.5mm and I am just shy of 600whp now and it has me very nervous, I would go with JE's or spend a few extra $$'s for the peace of mind and get CP's.

I've ran them both in my engine. I've never had an issue. If you are trying to make 800whp get the upgraded wrist pins. All the piston makers sell upgraded pins.......

The "shelf" wiseco stuff does not have a well designed skirt/boxed area of the piston. I just recently had a customers engine on the dyno rip the wrist pin from the piston in this area. I cannot comment on the wrist pin strength as I have never personally damaged a set. The endyn wiseco piston design looks more like the JE and CP box/skirt. The shelf wiseco piston skirt/box design looks more like the "x-skirt" all motor pistons from CP.

correct, but the upgraded pins wont stop them from ripping out from the weakened skirt like what Jeff described happened to him on his dyno.
Here is a link to the thread that I started about these pistons.... https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ghlight=wiseco

If the Wiseco would be sooo bad, than I do not understand why JeffEvans sells them in the EvansTuning online store?
I trust him and Andrea a lot but this confuses me a little...

They are good for your average build up to about 500-700whp, after that its better to run a different piston. There is a guy on this site making almost 900whp on shelf Wiseco's with the upgraded pins, probably not the best idea but it can be done. Just like Eagle Rods shouldnt but can be used in a 900whp engine, better to use something else.
Plus nobody said here that they are soooo bad, simply stated that above a certain power level some are failing miserably.

Because the majority of the people that are building hondas are not looking to make 650-700whp+. The wisecos are an excellent shelf piston for someone looking to upgrade for a street car. If you look at our engine packages we offer, the stage 1 comes with wiseco and we rated it at 500whp. The stage 2 and 3 builds use CP's.

you should be ok, I am making 585whp on shelf Wiseco's and I put about 3k hard miles on the car this summer, at or above 500whp constantly. I like these pistons too because they seem to be quieter than my old JE's and they are definately quieter than my friends CP's in his car.
