JE vs. SRP pistons
are there any differences in the build quality of these two? i own a b16, so only the SRP pistons are available. i fear that these are 2nd rate. anyone have any info?
I have 9:1 comp SRP pistons for sale in stock bore for sale. Srp are just as good. I run them in my car with a 3.209 bore. 333FWH, 245 TORQUE. Good for turbo application.
my buddy ran 10lbs. daily on his srp pistons and eagle rods for over a year w/ no problems. ive never heard a horror story about them. when it comes to pistons all you hear about is je, arias, and wiseco really. Until someone says otherwise i wouldnt worry.
yes je manufactures srp pistons, they are almost the same price. 389 a kit of srps, 408 for JE's. i dont know about 12-15lbs on them, just because i dont know doesnt mean it hasnt been done though. anything is possible almost, with good tuning

I talked to a guy at JE once about this. The JE pistons and SRP pistons are both made by the same company but the forging dies are different. Something about the geometry of the die and the post forge machining makes for a lighter piston.
