Default JDM d15b pistons?

HI guys i m trying to buy a set of forged pistons for my friends turboed JDM D15b sohc vtec engine. The pistons compression height is 1.100. Can somebody pls, give me a help here cause i cannot find a brand which produces these type of pistons , as i think this type of engine did never been produced in the U.S.

every manufacturer of piston do some custom pistons,

just get one off the engine and send it with your order, they will send you back 4 pistons with the correct shape, a bill and your old piston !

Nope I didn't get my piston changed, but just to let you know about the JDM d15b, the piston it use are the same bore as usual D serie piston, it's 75 mm bore, so no need's to custom fab any piston here, you can actually put any D serie turbo piston in unless you plan on boring those sleeve, wich I didn't suggest for turbo application, ticker wall are less prone to break under high pressure application.

it's the the rod strokes ratio that set this engine aside from the other D serie.

check the tread in my Signature for more info on this engine.
hope this help

As i have already measured everything , the d16 connecting rods are the same size as the d15b, the only size that did not match was the compression height of the piston.

D15b non vtec has a C:H of 1.213 as SRP'S catalouge resumes.
My D15b vtec piston has a lower C:H of 1.100.

So the complete deck height want match, the D16 connecting rods +the D15b non vtec piston would come to much high. They would be 0.113 higher than stock.
Can you explain me this PLS?

Yep,
the D15B rod mesure 137 mm, same lenght as an B18b, b18a
the d16 rod are shorter.

That is not correct. the d15b vtec is the same length rod as the d16z6, it's the bearing size that is smaller. the d15b vtec has the same rod bearing size of a regular d15 rod. So, it's not the pistons that have to be custom, it's the rods. Which is why you have a lower compression height. because the rod sits 3mm higher in the d15b vtec. Any d16z6 piston will fit in the d15b vtec. You have to get a custom rod made with a 137mm rod length and a 45mm or what ever the bearing size is for the regualr d15b7, b2 or whatever.

So I havent been able to get any straight info on the aftermarket Rods and Pistons for my d15b. Has anyone ever opened up One, I am really thinking about building a d16 from My other Civic EX cause nobody really knows Specs. That D-series ninja is the only one that has put D16 Pistons and rods into there D15B, I dont want to buy the pistons and rods for d16 and then I run into Problems.

I didn't know that the d16 rod were the same lenght, but since the D15b got the best rod / stroke ratio of all D serie engine, I thought that it was the only one using the 137 mm rod. since bore is Identical on all D serie engine...

sorry for miss information, I was absolutly certain of this one,
the tread in my signature cover all info on the JDM d15b BTW.

all d-series engines do not have the same storke, d16s have a 90mm storke and d15s (even the d15b vtec) have a 84.5mm stroke. It is the d15b vtec's rod length of 137mm (same as d16s) compared to the other d15s rod length of 134mm, that give it the 1.62 r/s ratio.

i'm french, so... you get the point ...
blah
