Re: ITS COMING TODAY! (00SilverLS)
The more (turbo guys in Jersey), the better.
It should be fun this coming season, especially Import Survival Series is still going on at E-Town.
AWD and FWD are in a separate class, se we would have more of a chance on winning.
However, there will be alot of competition this coming season. I know about 4 guys that live in my area are going for that elusive 10 sec. passes (street driven civics) if not, I know they are going to be in the consitent mid 11's and def. over 120mph.
In my situation, I have been saving up for a bit to finally do a build, hopefully I can join my friends on capturing that feat (mid 11's not 10's).

hehe...how much boost are you running now paul?
i just bought a built buttom and mate w/ arvin's race head (the one jose bought and sold it to me). w/ all other goodies I'm getting to rebuild...think it's over kill for 15psi (ed said i shouldn't have any problem w/ 20+). Oh well..hopefully my *** will be in the 12's range and I'll be happy Maybe we'll go to atco w/ you guys when my car's done :0

Re: ITS COMING TODAY! (Corporal-Jeff)
Jeff,
12's my ***....I think you can do alot better than that especially Ed is helping you out. He's one hell of a mechanic. If Ed says you can boost 20+, then he knows more about that block and your fuel setup. Just try to lighten up that slug (jk) of yours and I will have to say 5 people going at it.
As for me boosting, 11.5psi is the most. I was thinking of getting the Inline Pro head gasket, but Im just going straight for a build. Hopefully the build lasts more that three days. Im not going ghetto this time...Ed knows what Im talking about.
This board will know how ghetto I am by stating this:
When my built motor went (wrist pin lock came off #2 cyl.) I had a spare 95 block with 90k miles on it. I did not want to spend any more money so I reused my head gasket from the built motor. I was desperate to get back on the road.

hehe..12's w/ stree tire! Yeah...ed's a good mechanic..when I took it to him to check out the problem w/ my car....he knew everything about it even tho. i only told him what happened (surprise that crap outta me). I was going ot go ghetto and not build my buttom end..but then I came across w/ a good deal which I can't refuse..so there I am. A slightly used head (pnp) and a brand new sleeved buttom (golden eagle). My stupid *** bought a RC 550 before I bought the block now I'm just gonna use it till I feel the need for more speed (1000+ cc injectors maybe?!?). Anyway...I'll be using Hondata and Sakai is gonan tune it for me
Yeah..i know what you mean about eager to get back on the road. It's sad to see my car parked there and not beinga ble to move

Re: ITS COMING TODAY! (ek9t)
ek9t,
Which event are you refering to about not allowing stand alone?
If you mean the lock that looks like a c-clip, that's the one I used. I put it in myself, that could have been the problem. I should have used the wire locks (the one that looks like a key chain...thats what someone told me), and have a machine shop to put the pistons and rods together.
Hopefully it will work out better for me the next time I build my motor. I saw a picture of your car....looks real nice.

Re: ITS COMING TODAY! (FIxALPHA)
Jeff,
the 850cc thing was the max that i had *heard* about...and that was a few months ago...maybe they've found ways to get larger injectors to idle.
If Doug@hondata could reply to this thread then we'd know for sure.
Tom
By the way, how much friggin hp you plan to push?

Cool Matt!!
I know the anticipation and the despair when things don't go right after all the wait.
I'm back boosting with my Fmax finally all in with pipes that fit and a rebuilt turbonetics, dreading the thought of an oil seal bustiing loose again cause of some poor design possibly in the system. I think everything is ok! I'm off to drive to my girlfriends tonight 20 min away so should be fun if all is well.
Call me if you have any questions with the install or if you want to just cry if things don't go perfect for you
i'll be out tonight but home tomorrow night.

Re: ITS COMING TODAY! (GruvyTune)
coolness...remeber what i told you...do the inventory!!
Second, don't bother with asking FMAX for the brass T's...their service level is too low...and ieven if they bothered, they'll probably get to you by this time next year. Just settle for the plastics, or go and buy them on your own,,,probably doesn,t cost too much..
Finally..blow by blow of what you're doing like Torin did...so we know what to expect and we can all share the pain and the glory...good luck!!
