itr valves
Im replacing all my exhaust valves in my 97 gsr and thought I would just use my intake vales on the exhaust side since its the same and just get new itr valves springs and retainers on the intake side. My question is is there any bennefits from doing this? I am building a engine and it will be n/a for a while then boosted will I see any bennifits from this I am also going to get the machine shop to fit the valves.
Can it be done at the machine shop? Yes
Should you...NO
Oversized valves are usually +1mm at the most. the difference from intake to exhaust is like 5mm. Thats way to much to oversize. You may even run into interfence with a valve that large on the exhaust side. Honda designs them in diffrrent sizes for a reason. Get OEM size, if you really want to oversize(which is unnessacary for youre build) i wouldnt go over 1mm

would these work if I have oem intake valves and stock exhuast valve springs and retainers or would I have to buy supertech valve springs and retainers also

keep this simple. reuse your intake valves on the INTAKE side and buy 8 new exhaust valves from acura oem parts. exhaust valves are subject to much more heat and in the case of gsr/itr valves the head of the valve is inconel.
you should also have the machine shop test your springs for pressure to see if they need to be replaced as well
or, if you're just going to do the itr spring setup you use dual yellows on the intake and dual blues on the exhaust. the itr exhaust springset is the same as the gsr intake

im thinking of just ordering the supertech valves from the link i posted but I was wondering if I just get the valves can I use my stock springs and retainers there still good a machine shop will install them so would he have to port it out or is it direct replacement
why? the oe valves are designed for the oe guides. supertech is hit and miss with their valves. my friend myles had one actually break in half.
the stock honda valves are actually a really good piece
