ITR FI?
I have been thinking about going to forced induction on my ITR. It has stock internals, and I would like to keep it that way. I have been looking at the drag III kit and the JRSC high boost set up. JRSC seems like there is no tunning involved which is attractive. I live in Germany an dyno time is expensive. If I go turbo I was planing on buying a LM1 to tune with. My question is has anyone had experience with the JRSC high boost setup? I have seen earlier setups on 99-00 Si. one using a B20 crank pulley. I really wasn't that impressed by it. I have seen the drag III turbo on a b16 runing 6psi street and 10psi track, and was in love. Does the JRSC high boost setup even compare? I tried a search and didn't find anything on the subject. Thanks for any input.
Just remember, you can always upgrade just about anything on a turbo setup. On a supercharger setup (especially JRSC) the few things you can buy is upgraded higher-boost pulley, water injection kits, FPR, etc. And last but not least.... you can always up the boost on a turbo setup instead of a set boost with a supercharger.
The High boost setup on the JRSC comes with an several different pulleys it's like 6,8, and 11psi. Also included are RC440cc injectors and hondata ECU. It would be pain to have to change pulleys vs adjusting a boost controler. I would like to get down in the high 12,s in the quarter and still be able to keep driveability at AutoX's. I have read conflicting posts that the SC does better on a Road Course.
as mentioned above, you can adjust boost levels via EBC to allow more traction and according to road conditions.. say with my setup, at 4 something psi i make 200whp while 10psi allows for 260whp.. i have t04b 50trim (s trim) with t3 .48 a/r stage 2 wheel. just don't get oversized turbo and you'll have better powerband. dont go with 450whp capable turbo if you're only going to run half of that.
