Default The Future of OBD 1 Engine Management -- NepTune

PLEASE READ COMPLETELY THROUGH THE FIRST PAGE BEFORE POSTING. IT IS QUITE APPARENTLY PEOPLE ARE ONLY SKIMMING

a lot of people have been hearing about NepTune lately, but dont really know what it is. Simply, its another option for those using stock honda based ECUs.

NepTune still uses a Honda ECU, yet does not need a blue interface box. My favorite features are:

-5 Bar Map Sensor Support
-Full Throttle Shift Adjustability
-2 Step Launch w/ adjustability (fuel AND timing)
-higher resolition than hondata (user selectable)

...and traction control (SFWD LEGAL)

Unfortunately NepTune will NOT be sold to the general public. A select few tuners in the country will use this to tune customer's cars. Currently, there are 2 locations, Boosted Hybrid/Evans Tuning in PA and Full Race in AZ. MANY MORE TUNING LOCATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE VERY SOON

If you are serious about making your honda run right, this is an excellent option, particularly if you drag race.

Screen Shots:

1) 5 Bar Map Sensor Support:

2) Launch Control -- no need for a clutch switch, no need for a button. Use MPH

3) an image of a high resolution map

4) Do you like haltech? YOu can increase the bar graphs using arrow, or clicking and dragging

5) Do you like to tune with the lines? I know Mase does

6) Hate looking at a gauge and trying to remember it? Ive seen many tuners do this, and its not the most accurate way... just EASILY datalog it.

7) do you like nitrous? I dont, some do.

Complete breakdown of details (AKA WHY THIS IS BETTER)

*Tunable Maps* (Visible as Tables, 2D Line Maps, 2D Bar Maps, and 3D Maps)

-Ignition maps: 4 sets of 24x24 Ignition maps... Two for low cam (when vtec is inactive) and two for high cam (when vtec is active)

-Fuel maps: 4 sets of 24x24 fuel maps... Same as listed above...

-High cam maps are expandable to any set RPM level...

-Switch to secondary maps based on RPM, a user selectable input (Inputs TBA), MAP load, or TPS load... or any combination of the above...

-Fully adjustable and rescalable RPM breakpoints and Load breakpoints... (You can utilize all 24x24 for NA maps for precise tuning etc and use the secondary maps for boost)

-Primary and Secondary maps can be set to use the MAP sensor or the TPS sensor as a reference for load individually...

-Copy/Paste Igntion/Fuel maps, RPM breakpoints, and Load breakpoints... Selectable...

-Export/Import ignition, fuel, RPM breakpoints, Load breakpoints, and a/f ratio maps... Selectable...

-Drag and drop importing...

*Boost*

-High resolution boost maps for use with up to 5bar map sensor...

-Boost control with configurable output (For use with XS dual stage type boost controllers) based on selectable input, RPM, MPH and TPS...

-Boost cut based on load... It will cut for 1000RPMs before picking back up...

-Advanced boost tables creator... Ability to setup new boost tables starting at any given column and any given PSI... Ability to specify increments for boost step... Ignition retard per PSI... Fuel enrichment per PSI...

*Spray control*

-For use with water injection, intercooler sprayers, and brake misters...

-User configurable output based on selectable input, RPM, IAT, Load, TPS, and MPH...

*Nitrous Control*

-User selectable activation input...

-User configurable output based on RPM, Load, TPS, and MPH...

-Nitrous ignition retard...

-Nitrous fuel enrichment...

-Option to switch to secondary maps on output... Allows you to use the secondary maps to tune for Nitrous specifically...

*Full Throttle Launch/Shift (AKA 2-Step/3-Step)*

*FTL*

-Activated by MPH only, user selectable input, or adjustable and activated/deactivated by TPS threshold... Speed threshold determines FTL/FTS activation...

-Ignition retard...

-Fuel Enrichment...

*FTS*

-Activated by user selectable input (Clutch switch)...

*A/C Cutoff*

-Cut AC above RPM or TPS...

-Cut AC below RPM...

*MIL Shiftlight*

-MIL output activated at selected RPM, codes are still displayed if there is a problem...

*Traction control*

-Info coming soon

*Datalogging*

-Datalogging and playback for most major sensors, inputs/outputs, and special features...

-Map Trace

-A/F ratio logging with exportable/importable A/F data maps... Common sensors supported, plugins can be added for additional sensors...

-Digital Dashboard application free for all customers... Coming soon...

*Extra features*

-Adjustable Low and High Cam Rev Limits...

-Adjustable VTEC points for high/low load...

-Complete idle control normal idle controls as well as cold start idle maps with adjustable ECT temperatures and RPM values...

-IACV adjustment...

-IAB control...

-Fuel enrichment values for main fuel, cranking, tps enrichment, ect enrichment, and post start enrichment...

-Various sensors can be disabled...

-Closed Loop disable...

-Editable Closed Loop thresholds...

-Disable Closed Loop above specified load...

-Target O2 voltage...

-Adjustable deceleration fuel cut...

its alot more affordable than you think. Unfortunately, international customers will not get access to this, for now. If you are interested, contact us.

looks good but who developed it? full race? others ?

I dont see it working out too well unless you live close.
most race cars make changes throughout the season, no? so if you have to go to you guys everytime to get it tuned it limits your customer base to locals only imo.I also think people like the ability to tune themselves especially race teams.

its a nice way to try and "forcing" your customers to ahve you tune it everytime but most high end drag cars wouldnt like this, woudl they?

i see it as a good thing for street users though..tune it once and thats it .

does it work off a chip like s100?

Does this system address the problem of different AFRs at the same load points depending on gear, like Uberdata and Hondata don't?

To answer those questions in no particular order:

1) yes it works off a chip

2) it is VERY good for street users

3) for people who need to be on a race track and make adjustments, we will work with you. As with every endeavor we are involved with, our customers are NEVER left in the dark

4) Our customer base would not be limited to locals. We (Full Race) often have customers bring cars from far away to us. If you are serious about this stuff, traveling is not a concern.

5) FORCING??? What the hell are you talking about. We tell you what the terms are up front. If you dont like them, DONT USE THIS SYSTEM. There are 800 others to choose from.

I think it's ironic that you use the words "future" and "OBDI" in the same sentence. Has no one even attempted to make a Uberdata-type system using a modern OBDII computer?

no problem, the aem system works. This is just another option that is designed to be more user friendly, and easier to make a car run fast with.

Are there any plans to make this available to the public in the future?
Why wouldn't you want to develop and sells these to the public, I don't know but I would stand to think your profit margins would be greater by selling and tuning more units. Isn't that an awful lot research and development time and costs that could be recovered?

So, let me understand this, there s one programable ECM solution that will work with my iBook and you guys wont sell it to end users!

Why even show the software and its features if the customers wont be able to use it?

Just to clarify for anyone looking to add to this post:
There is absolutely NO way we will sell to the public.
We dont want to release to the public for two reasons (profit is not one of them)

1) most people never fully grasped hondata. This is more complex.

2) very FEW honda people actually respect the r&d that goes into this stuff. Copying stuff is a major concern.

If you arent familiar with us or our roots, then search h-t. Unfortunately we have had intellectual property issues with a large number of so-called "businesses" in this industry. The mistakes we made in the past will not be made again. Sorry guys.
