Default intercooler paint: any draw backs?

I am toying with the idea of painting my intercooler black to try to hide it a little bit, but i'm wondering if there are any down sides to it. will the paint hold in more heat? is it noticeable? is it worth it?

it definately will make the intercooler not quite as efficient, i'm not sure by how much.

i would try and use as little paint possible

i hear if you tape the fins off, scuff the passages a bit so teh paint can grabm and then "lightly mist" a coat of paint, that nothing will happen,

think about it, your just applying a "LIGHT" coat of paint on the front which is like 1% of the cooling space, many have done it with no problems, just make sure its like 1 or 2 light light coats,

why don't you just get it powdercoated. charged air systems can do it and sell them like that
