Intercooler... before and after
Ok. So I added a intercooler?bov for my d15b15g civic. Her is a little history. I have been running a stock greddy kit with just a 2.5 kteller exhaust into a jdm itr 2.36in. muffler for a couple month now. It is supposed to be internslly gated at 5.5#'s. When I first had it together 2.5 all the way back(magnaflow muffler) it would spike to 9#'s and settle bout 8#'s. Seemd high but fun to drive. Changed to a jdm itr muffler and lost a little boost. Then was pike about 8.5 and settle 7.75#'s.
So yesterday I finally added my intercooler which is small.(if I remember) 28x3.5x6 or so and used ebay piping. Now I only get 7#'s amd settle at 5.5#'s? Is this normal? Can I just fix it all with a boost controller? Or do I have a leak somewhere?I am having it tuned locally in 2 weeks? Don't really want to pay good money for tuning just waste it fixing things?

run your wastegate signal line from your intake manifold instead of from the compressor housing and the turbo will compensate. The turbo will spin till the intake manifold is at your target pressure instead of the compressor housing. </TD></TR></TABLE>So your saying to run the line from the wastegate to the intake? Can you explain a little better for the novice fi guy. Car is now slower rhan before. Working on getting a profec boost controller as we speak.

your intercooler and piping causes a pressure drop due to the increased volume. hook it up to your IM as everyone said shoudl be good

I guess your right. I wanted a boost controller like the profec so I can run bout 6#'s daily amd 10#s on the other setting. I know my driving habits. I will try adjusting the arm and the wastegat line and see how iy works. How much boost should it run from yje manifold cause I do like the idea of saving $175 on a used boost controller

I have an internal garret wastegate running off the intake manifold, I see 6psi without any spiking. Very constant, varies maybe +/- half a lbs, which can be accounted for from the temp/humidity.
Granted mine isn't as small as a turbo as you have, but I also have the smaller, lower flowing garret wastegate. The other solution is the cheap MBC you can get off ebay, I had good luck with a no-namer that a friend didn't end up using. I had to shorted the spring, but no spiking.
