Default Integra owners in Cali....

Have any of you switched to lower compression pistons and when it came time for smog did you pass?

are you talking about with the turbo still installed? or with the stock manifold/airbox?

Stock manifold and airbox. My engine is in the process of being re-built and I was told that because of how strict the laws are in Cali that if you lower the compression on a gsr it will not pass.

Yeah I would kinda like to know too. Emission are strict here in cali and thats why I went with a greddy kit thats carb approved. Not the most power for the money but no headaches or hassle. But I don't think that lowering your compression would drastically affect your emissions output.

i mean, as long as your cat is hooked up, i don't see why you wouldn't pass...

and as far as the greddy kit, good luck getting that thing to pass, even with the sticker.

Uhhh, no. If you fail you fail. You can't register the car until it passes. You can keep paying for retests until it passes.

There are no "tickets" for failing.

A buddy of mine has a problem after I turboed his mx6, and he did research if and found out if you spend more then 400 I think on fixing your smog you automatically pass.

Or you have to know a special shop, do you live in s or n California.
