Default Integra 1.8L

I have a 99 Integra with a 1.8L non-vtec engine. What would be a good motor swap for it, or is it good like it is, and just fix that one up?

Your in the FI forum so I think most people would recommend that you turbo that b18b, like I am going to!!

you could make it simple and hang on to the B18B then add a turbo system with Hondata. the proper turbo setup with good tuning will yield a nice power package, and the non-vtec cams are even easier to tune than the vtec ones with low and high lobes.

That curve could have even held onto a good amount more torque at high revs - AF dips pretty low by redline... wow.

OT - does anyone know how the B20 cams compare to the B18? I recently switched from my busted GSR head to a stock B20 head (both on B20 block) and daaaayyum this thing feels like it just runs OUT of steam at around 6000. It still pulls under boost but you can tell it doesn't want to breath well up that high. Should I be putting my energy into trying to improve the B20 / LS head or should I fix that GSR head (or maybe should I be looking for a B16 head and mani to do even better???)

Respect for the B18b, woohooo!

You might have to boost a little more than a B18C1 to get the same hp numbers, but I think the internals can handle the same amount of power. No need for a swap.

Ok, what would be the best kind of turbo to put on my car, and how much would it cost? Also, what kind of intake is the best (AEM or what)? And how much do good strut bars cost?

Are you sure you're not some WRX driving newb just trying to harrass the real enthusiasts? Maybe you just don't know what forced induction is but it has nothing to do with strut bars. Intakes are a waste of money on NA cars, but even moreso on turbo cars since you can't use them

No I have an Integra, and I am a newbie, and I was just wondering, so I thought you people would be nice enough to answer some of my questions, but of course, people always have to be dicks about something. I wast just wondering. And why can't you use an intake on a turbo?

They are nice. They did answer. The charge pipe usually has to be routed differently than with a n/a intake pipe.

Check it out.. http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/b20/b20tech.html
Saved that link a while back. Im not sure how accurate hybrid was back then, and they never went on to part 2 of B20 Ballistics. Its like Turbo mag not continuing with their "Decked Block" article, and they even said there would be a Part 2.
Scroll down on that page, there is a chart with part#'s showing that the B20Z has different camshafts than a B18B.

Although I bet a cold air intake could be used as the post intercooler half of your charge piping for a diy setup.

Ok none of this is making sense. So you still could put a cold air intake on it right? And what else would you have to put on it to make it work right? Would you have to install a new exhaust system? And what kind of exhaust system is a really good one?

Have you had any problems running at that amount of boost with your stock internals?
