Installing Injectors Question
Hey all,
I already did a search and couldn't find the exact info I wanted. When installing new injectors, do you put the Black O ring on the injectors and then into the Manifold.. or do you first put the Black O ring into the manifold and then push the injectors in.
I just want to know which side of the O ring to lubricate with motor oil... the outside or inside to get it to fit.
thanks!

i just actually found my Helm's manual and it says in there to put the black Rings into the manifold, install the injectors into the fuel rail, and then install the fuel rail/injectors to the manifold.
is it ok to oil the inside of the black O rings in order to get the injectors to fit better? or do you just torque down the fuel rail and don't worry about how far the injectors go in the Black O ring.

thanks for the feedback guys...
I just didn't know how far the injectors needed to be seated in the big black O ring in the manifold. the Hemls manual says ~ 8 lbf-ft or torque for the fuel rail retainer nuts but it definitely takes a lot more to get those dang injectors seated in the Black O ring.

Umm one word. DON'T. Do not just barely put the injectors into the bottom O-Rings. You may need to shave out their centers for them to fit. It should not be difficult at all to get the injectors into the big bottom O-Rings, and you should not have to oil them up. I guess you could, but I wouldn't recommend it, I wouldn't want any 10W-30 in my fuel injectors. The injectors need to be able to seat fully into the bottom O-Rings before you start fastening the rail down on top of them. Now if people would only answer my questions.. instead of leaving my newbie *** to fend for itself.

The injectors must have a tight fit into the grommets in order to have a good seal.
You arent putting oil INTO the injector, just around the housing. ITS FINE.
The injectors go into the rail BEFORE the manifold.
