If its the pro-kit... Darton recommends either Edge Bros. in NC, or the Darton facility themselves in CA.

We can also have your sleeves installed. Darton sends stuff to us as well.

one of my guys had Edge Bros sleeve his block. Less than 800 miles later all 4 sleeves dropped .020s. They refused to do anything about it, so I would not recommend Edge Bros to anyone that cant deal with them face to face.

i got my sleeves done by the Edge brothers in Nc. They installed the sleeves fine but put one of my piston rings upside down (oil ring) and put a f**ked up bearing in the motor. for the edge brothers

Just send the block to Darton, most sleeve manufactures do installs, and they are ALWAYS the most reliable

You have a solid-deck style set of sleeves, or their new "mid-deck" style. Interlocking sleeve style.

Ok, screw the Edge Bros. guys. At the time I did mine, Darton said they were available for work, and they were closer to me (east coast). I said no-way, and sent my block right to them to have it done, no intermediary shops.

Darton has the facility and the foundry. I figured they can install their own product, and if something goes wrong, I can blame the company directly

Oh and, ... if you want any custom machine work done, Darton has the CNC capability to do whatever you want while they are doing your sleeves.

Its really not that bad. I cost me about $60 in ground shipping to get my block, caps and girdle out there (Cross country, MA to CA). I needed it back fast at the time, and made the mistake of having them 3-day the block w/ sleeves installed back to me. That ran like $160 Kind of ironic, that I've got that whole motor up for sale now.

oops.

At least they shipped it in a mini-wooden crate, all super-duper packed up.

yeah, when it comes to sleeving, which is a difficult machining precedure that can make big problems for you and your engine if it is done incorrectaly, its worth the small amount of shipping charges to make sure it gets done right

what causes the sleeves to sink? just talked to a local machine shop, he was talking about sleeves falling out cause the block will expand with heat...
