Default Install Turbo on stock LS engine

Im about to drop in a turbo, but I want to know if its safe or even viable to install a turbo on my stock LS, by install i mean,

turbo + BOV + and intercooler+MAP bypass

stock injectors
stock fuel rail
stock FPR
stock fuel pump.

If i just drop in the turbo, and remember NO TUNING, just drop the turbo in, it will still be a safe DD car right?

Your car will be just as safe. A turbo doesnt take away from your structural integrity.

It's not going to last at 7lbs with no tuning.

turbo + no tuning = absolutely not safe for DD. Sounds like you shouldn't even be thinking about boosting if you want to cut corners like that.

I don't understand why so many people want to go turbo when they don't have the money to do it right or they're just too lazy to do it right. Stick to bolt - ons.

$80 for DSM 450 injectors and chip your ecu for $60 and you'll be good. Thats not too much more money....

there ya go do it like the domestics do it

to OP: 4-8psi is probably gonna be the safest limit without tuning BUT like everyone said your motor isnt gonna last long. you need to upgrade plugs do a little timing changes and atleast 370cc to 450cc injectors and maybe a few other things

Are you serious right now? This has to be one of the stupidest threads i've seen on HT in a while....

Go ahead and just "drop 'er in" because that's how it works...just set it in the engine bay and it'll magically work and your engine will be fine. You need a hell of a lot more parts than just the turbo, bov and intercooler....not sure if you were aware of that or not.

I think its time for you to stop what you're attempting to do and research a little bit. You NEED tuning and you NEED a lot more parts than what you have listed....

Then get it tuned.

They come with the "e-manage" or "blue box" which is just a pretuned program for a specific engine, which most have found isn't really all that good.

SAve some $$$$ and get some 450cc injectors + a chipped ECU and drive ur car (while staying out of boost) to a tuner ...then u should be fine
