Default injectors maxing out ???

stock z6 8 lbs...rc 440 injectors max out at full load 100% duty cycle 255 fuel pump and 50 psi fuel pressure...from what i read maybee filter bad or pressure fallin off....but what would cause that, i heard about some ppl tuning and take the vaccumm off for regulator whats the purpose of this?

and is s300 if you change base timing to match distributor.. it should change the whole map correct?

8lbs on what turbo?

Also, are you just seeing this because it says 100% on Hondata? Did you scale the injectors in the software? If you add more fuel does the car richen up? Understand that the software really has no idea what the duty cycle is on the injectors, it is only finding it mathematically and if you didn't scale for the new injectors it still thinks you're running stockers.

this sounds pretty accurate, 550cc is usually the place to start for turbo car's

injectors arent rated by hp, it all depends on the turbo he's using and how much cfm it flows

Injectors are rated by fuel flow which mathmaticaly can be converted to a given hp reating proviing you know BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption) of the engine. The turbo size has nothign to do with how much hp can be made with a certain injector. 440cc injectors should be able to handle in the 300whp range so if the OP is at 220 then its mathmaticaly imposible to be maxing out those injectors unless there is a fuel starvation and the milliseconds ahev to be drasitcally increased as boost pressure rate rises.

My guess is there not scaled properly in the software therefore injector dead time is probably not properly setup as well

huh? injectors are rated by cc or lb/hr it's all the same. 440cc injectors typically max out around 300 crank hp at 50psi

you can use the calculator here to determine what size you need based on hp output

http://www.fuelinjectorconnection.co...widercalc.html

to make 300hp at an 80% duty cycle you need about 590cc's or the 650cc precisions would be a good inexpensive fit

in the op's case if he's making 220whp 440s are more than enough, something else is up

this is rolling with a BSFC of .6 which would be probably be close

Ok, bnmm, if you add more fuel does the mixture still get richer or no? Scaling doesn't always work the way it should, the number you should be focusing on is the one the wideband is putting out.

Injector duty cycle is a very simple calculation. Its injector pulsewidth divided by cycle time at a given rpm. Has nothing to do with scaling in the software. The logged duty cycle in Hondata should be correct.
