i'd put a LS motor in it. i'd take an LS over a B16 anyday.....even all motor.

if there wasnt a foot of snow on the ground i'd be putting a LS in my new beater car right now

later on when you build the motor you can do pistons, rods, and a vtec head.

i don't see why so many people like the LS if it only has 145hp and 127 trq

im sorry but for $220 im not buying that

im seriously thinking of going H22 and installing AC and PS that will be the biggest pain in the ***

i have/had a h22 in a civic......pulled it out and went back to Bseries.

here's the h22 set up.

who cares what the motor makes from the factory. the extra torque it makes will make it faster than a b16. the last LS car i built i spent mo money on, put on all used junk parts i had, and the car made 240whp @ 6-7psi before the clutch started slipping. i built the whole car for next to nothing. it cost me a lot more money to do practically the same thing in my B16 car. my LS/Vtec car is by far the best set up ive had.

you name it...ive had it. if your looking for the swap to do on a budget the LS is the way to go IMO.

200 dollars is too much he said in his previous post so i think a GSR is out of the question.

Get a GSR setup. You can find them for right around the budget you are looking for. Hopefully you can do your own work. I mean as far as removal and installation.

im on the B18a/b bandwagon.. way cheaper than any vtec engine and with the extra money saved you can increase its potential. boosted non-vtec's are still nasty with the proper set up. you could always do the vtec swap in the future as well.

H22 would be sweet but too much work compared to a B series swap.

just my two cents.

exactly....you'd need $3K just for the axle fund alone.

that is quite a setup, i dont mean to sound stupid, but what kind of distributor is that? or is there a purple plate near it or something?

for $3k.....go h2b..serioulsy
h22 longblock = $900ish if you don't look too hard
h2b kit = $850ish
stock b-series axles/mounts= $100ish just barely looking
GSR or B16 tranny =$500ish
mod your stock wiring harness = free
shift linkage = $75 not really looking
then just get a chipped ecu to rid yourself of the egr bullshit and weld/grind that up on the manifold and you're pretty much good to go

it just seems that the ls does't have anywhere near as much power as the H22

and it seems that the H22 has more potential

the only limiting factor to the h22 is the transmission....h2b is the way to go. 300cfm head with a simple valve job, stock sleeves that hold over 600whp, pretty damn cheap longblocks to begin with....

People just can't argue with a wall. Your mind is made up, so why do you keep posting? Its pointless.. You want to use the old philosophy of "The beggest I can cram in my engine bay makes me the fastest" then by all means, do it!
