Default Ignition retard for the D16Z6

I have a 93 civic with the d16z6 motor and greddy kit. I was wondering if i need to retard the ignition to run 8 psi. I'm using the blue box and a holley intank pump.
Thanks

a total YES

At least I did

I have a huge intercooler now, but before the cooler, I retarded the ignition a few degrees in the summer, just to get rid of any posibility of detonation

i didnt. I was running 10-12psi (on a d16z6) on 91 octane and no boost retard. I had no detination what-so-ever. Although if the boost went any idea i would have knock (detination).

Although every setup is different...but if you dont hear knock..then dont worry about retarding the ignition. The more retard the less power you have.

Its all about fuel tuning.
