IAT help..
Ok, first off, i did a search:
When i orignally did my DRAG install i just left my IAT dangling on my '00 Si. the '00 Si has the IAT mounted in the factory air box intake arm...not in the Intake mani like most other cars.
im re-doing my set up and want to do my IAT properlly. I do NOT want to tap my intake manifold...its just out of the question. Ive searched and seen that alot of guys are having luck with mounting it in the coupler between the throttle body and the charge pipe. ive also read that people are having problems with it popping out under pressure. how did you guys seal it in there? any advice, etc.

Regardless, you will want a "bolt on" style IAT.
A. Built a bracket and weld it onto your charge piping.
B. Buy an aftermarket intake manifold which has placement for a IAT to bolt onto it.

run a 3/8 vacuum hose and stick it in theere and hose clamp it on! from either ur intake manifold or charge piping! it wont pop off uf u clamp it with a hose clamp!
Exactly what is done on my setup. Never had a problem. I mounted the nipple on the charge pipe, ran a vacuum line, stuck the IAT sensor into the line, clamped everything down, and it's been good.

so what you're saying if im understanding correcty:
Have a nipple welded on, then put a small chunk of vac line on the nipple so that the IAT has something to plug into, then hose clamp all the connections.
so trying to plug it into the coupler between the charge pipe and throttle body is not possible? any thoughts on how i could get this to seal...just seems easier then having something welded on to my charge pipe.
edit: should i decide to do the welding route...where abouts would i get a nipple?

All i did was drill a hole in the charge pipe, and use a grommet from my aem cai. It fits in very very snug and has never came close to popping out once.
what size drill bit did you use if i may ask? Also, do you have the same type of sensor that i have in my '00 Si? the slip in grommet type?
im not sure of the 2000 and prior but on my 01` D17 i welded a nut to the charge pipe, then used a die on the out side of the IAT(its plastic on mine) then threaded it in to the charge pipe

It was so long ago that i don't even remember. I just used a small bit and worked my way up until it would fit in very snug, but i was still able to get the sensor in. Also yes its the same type of slip in sensor you have.
