I need some help.
My brother has a greddy kit on his em1. We've been noticing some oil coming out of the BOV. The old motor was shot so we put in the new motor and we thought it was just from the old busted one. So we cleaned all his piping and intercooler, so we checked it to today and found some more oil. So we check where the catch can hooks up and it was dry, the oil was coming from the turbo itself. Which makes me think the seals are bad. What do you think?
I don't know **** about turbos and all that good stuff. What I was wondering was what size flange is on the 18g? Is it a t3 or a t2? What is another good size turbo with a internal wastegate that will bolt to his flange? We are upgrading later to a t3/t4 with a external wastegate in the future but will work now? Thanks for the help in advance.

Did he get the kit new or buy it used? If the turbo is relatively new, you need to figure out why the seal(s) went before you replace/rebuild the turbo or it will just do it again. What does the drain line look like?

Well if that's the case then the turbo is probably just used up. If you are going to go with a t3/t4 in the near future, I would probably look for a used greddy to hold you over, or get yours rebuilt.
