I heart boost
This weekend I had a little encounter with my friends brand new Camaro SS. The story is as follows:
After a night of driving around with some friends and just enjoying a ride in our cars, my friend and I pulled up next to each other at a red light. And out came the video camara.
(insert first video clip) http://rely.net/~dustin/Mvi_0046.avi
When I saw my friend gun it from the light it took me a second to make the decision to go for it. I thought this would be a good chance to see how my car actually stacks up against a SS. I soon realized that he really wasn't pulling on me like I thought he would. So at the next light I gave it my best shot. Off the line and on into 2nd we were dead even, then at the top of 2nd.....
(insert second video clip) http://rely.net/~dustin/Mvi_0049.avi
You must remember that this is a brand new SS (doesn't even have plates yet), so the whole "my clutch" thing is B.S. at best.
Here is a pic of the participance, sorry the pic is huge. http://imglib.************/index.cgi?cmd=view&id=4223
I guess it would help to know that I'm only running 6psi.

Whatdaya got in that thing?
Haha, those were some great clips. The passenger in the SS knew what was up.
Really, are you only running 6 pounds? You must have a 60-1 or some sort of huge turbo to kill an LS1 camaro like that. Unless the driver didn't know how to drive his new toy.

t3/t04b =P
looks like he was pulling him through entire gears, not much driver skill necessary there... just keep right foot planted.

Yep, only 6 psi. Its actually running off the tial wastegate spring (.43). The turbo is a T3/T04B S-3 trim.... so nope, nothing fancy there. hehe
The driver of the SS has been driving it for some time now so I wouldn't think it's a lack of drivers experience.
I think, I'm just fast. haha

Hahahahaha.....thanks for that great vid post! Watched it a few times....yeah that was some great comments by the guy taping/riding shotgun. I feel kinda bad for the Camaro guy though....getting **** from inside his own car? haha.... "He's hangin' dude! He was hella hangin'.....he almost kicked your ***....." Oh and the pre-light change exchange was good too
Makes that aching for my soon-to-arrive DRAG kit that much stronger....feels like it's been Christmas eve for 2 weeks now!

Re: I heart boost (VTC_CiViC)
I had the same situation when I was at 6.5 psi (is 6 psi some magic number for T3/4B's?). Friend of mine wanted me to try his SS out, so I did, and I won by about 2 cars up to 110 (my car dyno'd 251/180 at 6 psi). Anything's possible... power/weight OwNz. Now I've got the AVC-R and I'm lookin for a little rematch to drill the point home about turbo 4's . BTW, great kill... Todd.
