Will i die from fumes? Will animals die from fumes? Will I puff out black smoke? Will I stank like a Ford Mustank?

I just want to know how bad it will get.
Let me know how bad it really is. There are no emission laws in Michigan (WOO HOO!!) so that isn't really a problem. I just don't want to look like some jalopy on the street with smoke coming out of my *** and stuff.

A test pipe will only effect your emissions testing. It will not make your car smoke, it will not change the smell of the exhaust. It only gets rid of hydrocarbons.

 

Ive always defined test pipe in a different way you must be talking about a straight pipe (no muffler, no cat). If you do this just make sure the pipe extends kinda far back. If not the fumes will go through your floor board into the cabin and you will pass out and die and end up in teh kill stories forum.

 

It would come out the back of the car like all exhuast.. what do you mean through the floor?

 

Are you talking about just replacing your catalytic converter with a test pipe? If so, there will be a little extra smoke when the car is cold. Other than that, normal driving is fine. If you really get on it, people behind you might notice a little puff, but nothing crazy.

If I'm guessing right, S03Burner might be talking about just a straight thru design where it's the downpipe to another pipe. No muffler, no cat, nothing. That's loud. If the pipe doesn't extend past the car's bumper, it'll gather under the car and stink up the car, possibly being dangerous.

i have no cat and a 2.5 dp...to 3"full exhaust......and i am running rich as hell....u can practically get wet withh fuel when standing by my turbo N1 in the back.....besides smoke comin out looks sick...when i get on it, u can smell the fuel and see some smoke....i look at it like this....a huge fmic,a huge exhaust, more fuel comin out to run a v8 big block.......hhahahaha

Well, I was just talking about removing the cat and have a test pipe there while retaining the rest of the exhaust so I guess I'm okay.

 

it smells alittle more potent... but it aint bad at all. stand behind your muffler at startup and it will give you a good blow.

 

That's AWESOME, I can't wait when a Mustank pulls up behind me at a redlight so I can't stink his *** up!

Well, what I should say is... THere is NO emissions TESTING here in michigan Which means... good for me.. Cuase if there were, no V8 Mustank would pass it.
