How safe is this setup??
Hey guys I just put a Greddy 92-95 Civic EX turbo on my ZC. Runs great, no pinging at boost. My question is I only put colder plugs, changed the timing, and am using the fuel pressure riser that came with the kit. At only 5 psi do I need any other engine management?
Also whats better to use with a turbo, Synthetic oil or not? At the moment Im using Non synthetic, thanks guys

Why would you use Synthetic? I hear 2 different things about using synthetic on a turbo.
1) They say use sythetic since it handles heat better
2) The other side says that synthetic is to thin to use with a turbo
Would it hurt using non sythetic?

When you stated a fuel pressure riser, do you mean a boost dependant regulator?
As for oil, I just get the penzoil 10-30, it's a lot cheaper, I just change my oil more often.

Fuel Pressure Riser, it came with an older version of the turbo kit, its supposed to push more fuel when boost goes up. My kit came with the blue box but it wouldnt work for me since Im using a teg ECU

from Cartech's site...
So, what does it take for you to have a reliable turbo? Two things: use a top notch synthetic oil and change
it every 5000 miles. Don’t worry about anything else.

They say that a stock ignition system is good for moderate boost levels. As long as ur using a boost dependant regulator ull be ok as long as its adjusted right. What fule pump are u using. I have an 89 teg that i turboed. D16A1, similar motor to the DOHC ZC. Im using stock timing, but also running lower compression. Just make sure your not running out of fuel. what else do u have in ur set-up. what kind of car is it? just curious about ur set-up. dean 89turboteg
