Default How safe is Nitrous?

I have a DA9 (160k miles) with I/H/E. Planning on borrowing my friends nitrous kit for a week. What are the odds of blowing my engine? TIA

Only as safe as the install, user and build of the motor.

nitrous can be safe if u dont over do it..such as trying to top your car out with a 100 shot.. thats just stupid

I had a B16 motor (stock block) I made about a hundred passes at the track on the motor and about a million on the street. Then i put a direct 120ish shot on it. It lasted about 20 bottles till i broke the ring Land's out of all 4 pistons . Blew up in 3rd gear and i stayed in it and it still ran 12.16@113 . Drove home smoking like a ****. I put my kit on a friends drag car(1800lbs1.8LEG) and it went 10.95@123 on the second pass.

Nos is definitely not the safest way to get horse power. But it is the cheapest.

If you want to be safe just squeeze in a couple gears and check your plugs

IMO I wouldn't use anything but direct port. If you guys need any help on DP jetting IM me

Good luck

only as safe as the tune and user... I agree with above generally.

n20 can be safe and fairly reliable.
