Default How much would you sell this block for?

Make a long story short..I used to be on here every day. I moved on and got me a newer vehicle. I have a Ls/vtec built by the late Earl. its a 83mm sleeved ls block, cp pistons, manley rods, acl bearings, moroso oil pan, vtec oil pump and water pump. The bearing spun on the dyno while tuning with Tony1 in dallas. My friends always asking me for it but where I live these people know sh*t about what this motor is capable of. They just know its built. How much you think I can get for it???? Thanks..please no smart @sses

Honestly break down the initial cost of everything first, filter in assembly/machine work, and odds and ends.

I am assuming that its going to be around $4,000. I would say atleast $2000 would be a good place to start considering that the rods and pistons are over $1100, machine work with a sleeved block is about $1000+, bearings $200, assembly 400-500, oil pan IDK $200, oil pump and water pump $250ish...

I might be way off here, but honestly all they have to do is throw in new bearings and have the crank worked over a little and re-assemble, and not to mention that the motor is capable of just about anything you can throw at it, oh and no down time waiting for the block to get sleeved.

long time man....

have you had the pan off to take a look at things? how did the crank and rod look?

it's too bad it never worked out. with all the messed up luck you had, there must have been some sort of honda curse following you around.

hey whats up? It has been a while..I wasnt sure if you were still on here. That honda curse was the worst nightmare Ive ever had. I still have love for the hondas though. I am not sure if I want to sell it though. Just a lot of people been asking about it. If I ever come into some more money it would be a nice project car. Just seeing how much it could be worth.

It was just the bearings and the crank might need to be worked maybe. From what tony told me it was the bearing when he pulled them out in front of me.

If you supply the core Bensons will build you that exact motor sans oil pan for 3375 dollars. If you can find somebody to buy that motor with a spun bearing but an oil pan for 4000+ that would be a ******* miracle.

I'd say no more than 3K at the absolute most. 2500-2800 would probably be a more realistic price.

I say you send the motor back to us and let me open it and see what happened and go from there? Maybe I can help you out with getting the motor back together and we can see what exactly happend and why?

id say you are lucky to get 1500 for it. You never get what you put into a motor/car. Not to mention it has a spun bearing, which will make people be even more weary of what might be the problem with it. Possible the crank is bad, or the cylinders need to be bored out again, so you would have to get new pistons.

Buying a used block for anywhere close to what you can get new is just asking for trouble. Too many liars and thieves these days.
