Trick question? Wouldn't the answer be "Whatever amount you need"?
Wondering about your ability to tune seeing as how you can't even post a pic properly.

this is going to end badly if your asking how much timing your engine can run on a forum. Take it to a competent tuner, he will then decide what it should be.

so around 8 psi?

For newbies, its a good starting point to retarded 1 degree of full timing, per PSI of boost.

Use a P30 map to start, go from there.

that is a good starting point. And when you start really getting into tuning, you realize you don't need to start pulling any timing after about 5psi on most cars ( key words there, not saying honda specific ). and pull in 0.25 increments until knock is seen / gone.

Also don't always tune right for knock threshold, especially on stock pistons

Pulling an entire degree doesn't sound like much, but 5 degrees pulled at 5 psi is a lot.

but it is an awesome base to start on so I recommend it.

i doubt the OP is using a p72 along with a knock sensor anyways. I think hes blind tuning ignition timing on the street.

If you want to tune your self its called research. There are plenty of books available to at least give you basic knowledge and a starting point for tuning. Its better than going at it blindly, that will just result in a blown motor

Blind tuning ignition on the street with No knock logging at all is like playing russian roulette with a semi automatic.

you **** the timing numbers up and you can detonate when you're not even in boost... so be careful.

Detonation doesn't always show up on spark plugs, and By the time detonation is audible ( you can hear it ) it's already too late.

this makes no sense. how do you "tune" part throttle and midrange timing on the dyno? LOL Detonation ALWAYS shows on plugs from my experiences.. I've heard pinging and loud knocks under WOT on plenty of setups and they still hold together. Do yourself a favor and research more or actually go out and tune some cars before you provide false info.
