Just wondering what you guys think how much boost is a safe amount to run on a 95 gsr with je 9:1 compression and shot peened rods. Block was bored and balanced 20 over, also with 2001 itr cams, stock head, cm 9lb flywheel, cm stage 1 clutch with 6 puck disk(no springs). Drag 2 T3/4 turbo on 8-10 psi.

stock injectors, larger injectors, addtl injectors, stock pump, inline pump, intank pump, fpr, standalone, hondata, AFC, advance timing, retard timing, stock timing....give us more information....

 

I have stock injectors, timing is retarded, I do have a vafc, fuel pressure regulator, inline fuel pump,p28 ecu with mugen chip. Block was stock and it melted a piston so now I have the je pistons and shot peened gsr rods with arp bolts as well as the head studs. motor will be put back in tomorrow or the next day. its out right now cuz the rebuild is new. thanx

 

Sell your Mugen chip, AFC, fpr. Then buy a hondata (or AEM), any 1:1 fpr, 440-550ccs, eagle rods, no blockguard.

If money does not allow then I would just change the injectors. With the set up you proposed, I wouldnt feel comfortable over 7-8 psi without new injectors

 

I have a friend that haad a stock bottom end and the same turbo kit and ran 9psi for about a year and never had a problem. I dont understand why I cant at least run that if I have je pistons and lower compression and all. Im confused

you could run 9 psi, but you'd be pushing it with that fuel set up.

with proper fuel set up you could run much more.

Stand-alone, 450 or 550cc injectors, high volume fuel pump, colder plugs.
hondata is probably the cheapest route...
Or you culd get by with the v-afc,450's, and 1:1 fpr...

 

hey thanx for your response. colder plugs being which ones? I use the ngk bkr6e11 right now. how much of a difference are the 440s than the 450 injectors? 1:1 fpr huh?
