How to install a Harmonic Damper by Fluidamper
This is a part that is going to be one my engine before it even starts up. Thanks for the install info art. And yellowturbo, the unorthodox pulleys will probally hurt your motor when you rev it that high, because they don't have a balancer in them like the stock ones.

Yes, the crank trigger is on the oppisite side of the alternator pulley.

Ben, the pick ups and sensors are not yet mounted. Good eye!!

I would like to see a Type R yellow damper. That's extra points at the big car shows! I sent an email to fluidamper reguarding the realease date of the H series product, I will make sure and fwd this info onto you guys when I find something out.
As far as the H series dampers are concerned, that is going to make pulling/installing the motor that much more trickier depending on the dimensions of the damper. Fitment issues in the prelude are a lot different then they are in a nice little hatchback.
On the other hand, I would like to give larry props for the dyno and shop, very sexayy
I'm so jealous of you art. Oh ya, tell him to answer his damn phone this morning!
On the other hand, when having your bottom end balance will also help to reduce the harmonic vibrations as well due to a more uniform reciprocating assembly, correct?

Art,
Great writeup. Just received my order and Fluidamper has machined the back of the damper to clear the plastic belt guard. Nice product, nice people.
While at vmp, please stop by Jason's and introduce yourself.
thanks,
Jim

Jason Hunt?
I just sent some out with the machined backing, but we still advise to cut it just in case..hehe People might freak out when they see smoke. Fred at fluidamper is a really nice guy..

man that would suck if the h22 one came out later. all the b series motors are spoiled with aftermarket parts. Let us know when it will come out art?

Since I assume this is on an OBD1 engine, I also assume the crank trigger is for DIS.
Damn, I'm surprised these things aren't way more expensive. Not that I can afford one any more than I could 10 years ago, but still, I'd have guess in the $600 neighborhood rather than $350!

oh ok. the only reaso i asked was because i noticed degree marks on it and i wasnt sure if that was for adjusting timing or if it had a dual purpose as far as adjusting the dampner to cater to every different kind of motor setup since not everyone uses the same bearings and many people have micropolished cranks and possibly knife edged which coudl throw off teh balance as well but if this is just a bolt on dampner then thats cool
That's the point of the balancer, is to absorb different vibrations that every motor puts out, unlike the stock one, which art mentioned, is only meant to absorb vibrations from stock internals.

Better yet, D series AC one.
