Default How high can I safely rev?

I'm curious to hear from others revving past 9000.

My setup is an 83mm b16, sleeved block, pauter rods, z10 girdle, s366.
Head will have ferrea 6000 valves, supertech 85# springs, itr cams. It had rev valves and springs and at 9500 I had valve to valve contact. Obviously it was down on power on that pull but the pull on 24# before this happened, we only pulled to 9000 and it was still making power. It's a track car so I'm not afraid to turn it to 10k if it's making power that high, assuming it's going to stay together. The only reason I can see how the valves hit are from valve float, which is why I'm replacing the springs. Just curious to hear from others revving high with success.

It was still making power at 9500. After getting it back together from the bent valve, we just turned it to 9000 because I want to enjoy it a little.

Assuming the seat pressure was set correctly you should be fine to about 10k - those REV springs suck. Did you have adjustable cam gears as well playing adjustments? That is some serious valve float if the cams were at 0 / 0 ...

I have to agree with him. valve to valve contact at 0.0 is extremely rare. are you sure one or both of the cams didn't skip timing?

Gears definitely didn't slip. I don't believe the belt did either but I pulled it apart in a hurry without verifying 100%. I replaced the valves with ferrea 6000s and replaced the springs with supertech 85# springs. We put it back on the dyno and finished the tune. So far so good turning 9000 on 28#. I'm leaving it there for now. It made enough power to do what I want it to for now.
