how to get circlip down

Default how to get circlip down

i got a 14b turbo and i need to put the circlip back on, i got it on, but it wont go all the way down competely to settle in its groove, is there any technique or easy way to get it in ?

I got the NASTYIEST blood blister trying to do that exact same thing on an hks ssqv. It took me like 3 hrs. Compress it really good, make sure your putting it on the right way (is one side tapered?), and if you can't do it, have someone use a regular screwdriver to try to seat it as you hold it.

Lastly, make sure your turbo is properly seated-- ie make sure there isn't any crap making it sit a bit high-- wipe the mating surfaces clean.

theres a tool you use for it. it looks like pliers but at the end it has to little pins on it that go in the clip so you can squeeze it together. The local auto store should have one.

yes, they are called c clip pliers, you can get a nice craftsman set at sears for about 25 dollars. It will save you the blood blisters
