How far away from the turbo.............
How far away from the turbo are you guys mounting your o2 sensor for the best results? This applies for the LS turbo setups.

mike keep it as close as possible. the o2 sensor has to be hot to stay within working range. i'll call you tommorow sometime.

If you put it too close you run the chance of killing the sensor. Mine is about 10" from the turbo.

Those sensors are designed for high heat. Honda sensors are for low heat! Put a low heat sensor too close to the turbine and the lifespan of that sensor would dwindle like a candle in a hurricane.
I am using an after market sensor from Greddy and it comes with a warning about placing the sensor to close.
A lot of OEM sensors on turbo cars are placed in the turbo outlet right after the exhaust housing! This is not a good position for the sensor since it adds more abstruction to the already congested piping of demure size.

mine is about 10-12 inches after. well you say it is not good being close because of the heat. then why do they have built in heaters. i think i read they heat them selves to about 500 degrees. *think*

What about the fact that the secondary is supposed to be right next to the cat, which is supposed to re-ignite the exhaust gases ? High heat, no ?

non-obd 1-wire o2 sensors are non-heated. mount those close to the turbo. the newer obd-1 4-wires are self heated & can be mounted further away.
