It depends on what you wish to accomplish? There aren't as many TECIII tuners around as compared to Hondata or AEM, so I think that discourages people from buying it. I use it in my race Supra and have had no problems with it Check they're site http://www.electromotive-inc.com
I think it's just as good or better than th systems you've mentioned, but i've only had with the AEM, Motec and Hondata, so I can't give my opinion about the Fast.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by prelude beast &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I would like to know is the electromotive tec 3 good system is it good as the speed pro/fast,motec,aem ems, or hondata.</TD></TR></TABLE>

this makes no sense to me, we have had nothing but success with these on anything from daily drivers to drag only cars.

the tec 3 is damn near plug and play. As long as you have the right accessories for the motor and your setup you should be able to plug the thing in and it will "learn" and give you a basic fuel map until you can get it to a tuner to fine tune everything. The hardest thing about it is it's 256 points per square one a 12x12-16x16 fuel grid. Each point is tunable btw most people tend to stray away from them because its too much of a headache for them to scroll over a 3d grid to find that one point that may be causing a problem.

maybe its the tuner!

WEll what about tuning the aem ems unit you dont like this? I can get one new for $1100 how does that compare to the price on the tec 3 system. THe advantage of the tec 3 is the dis but i've heard the aem is very good.

one "glitch", as AEM put it, is that at 100mph the system shuts the fuel pump off. Try dyno tuning that.

My friend has been using Electromotive on his race car since 99-00 season. He has had good luck with it. I guess it varys on each persons setup, what they want to get out of it, and whos near them to tune it.

I dont belive that it has a 100mph shut off. Seen many cars running 13's on the aem ems and over 100 mph with no fuel cut at 100mph??

I'm not a fan of the tec-3. I ran into lots of bugs in the software that were driving me crazy. I prefer autronic, haltech and hondata. The autronic has traction control too...
Haltech is kind of primitive but simple and easy to tune.

Tec III *** rapes hondata, only downside is it doesn't come preterminated, its on a differant level than the three you mentioned (distrubutorless ignition)

You can do that with any EFI system, but hondata.

I agree that hondata doesn't fall into the same category. It isn't a standalone FI setup. Although in terms of ease of use it blows tec-3 out of the water.

Autronic and Haltech on the other had do everythng that the tec-3 does (including distributorless ignition) and a few extra things (Autronic does traction control, Haltech does multiple wastegate maps)

So you wouldnt recommend AEM EMS unit. It has traction control but not sure about if you can run DIS(distributorlesss ignition system) with it. But costs half the cost and can run a factory harnesss!

Did not sound right to me. How is the AEM for tuning? Can you run the DIS with crank trigger wheel and individual coil with it do you know like the 7 second aem civic?

We have never ever had this problem or any problem for that matter. And we have had hands on experience with them, not just here say. They use regular GM coilpacks, so if anything were to go wrong with them(which i have never seen happen) you could easily replace it.
