Default hondata users: shift light dimly lit....

Ever since I installed my Hondata, 1st was 2b then to 3bd, the shift light has always been BARELY lit. You can't tell in the day but at night its definately slightly illuminated. It also gets slowly brighter as rpms go up too. Not even close to the brightness when it is ON, but again, noticeably brighter.

is it me?

the unit as a whole has been performing flawlessly.

Did you try to switch the wires? Just a thought, mine did that and after switching the wires, now it would just about to blind you

I usually mount the led in the bezel in front of the instrument cluster

pritos: try reversing the leads on the LED.

reversing the leads doesn't make the light come on at all.

the shift light works great. its just that its a tiny bit illuminated.

when I first got the Hondata the shift light was mislabeled on the box. even with the right wires plugged into the socket the shift light would not work. so I reversed polarity and it works.
