What happens if you disconnect your Hondata from the ECU? Will the car start or run?

If a Hondata owner decides to upgrade to a higher stage, I'm assuming the Hondata has to be sent in to a dealer or Hondata. So is the car useless until the Hondata come back?

 

the car should start and run, however you wont be able to boost.

 

When I upgraded from 2B to 4B, Doug sent me a new chip. So, no down time (except for the 3 mins to install the new chip).
