Hondata Problem....Please Help!!
OK, here is what is happening. Tonight, I decided to play with my wideband O2 sensor and Hondata setup. Some of you might have seen my earlier post on my install. Everything was working perfect. When I hooked the wideband up and started the car, everything was fine althought I had a CEL (which I didn't check to see what it was but I am pretty sure it was because I didn't have a diode on the O2 heater wire).
Now, here is where the problem started. I was playing with the Rom Editor and I accidently selected the "Download Whole Rom" from the emulator menu. Ever since I did this, I can't connect to the interace box at all. The interface box also blinks slowly. Is it suppose to blink? I have tried everything I can think of multiple times. It just will not connect to the interface box now. Now, I thought the Romulator might have come disconnected but that wasn't it (when I did this, now the car won't run right).
I am just lost at this point. Everything was perfect before now nothing will work. Anyone have any ideas? I am just extremely frustrated at this point because I knew something was wrong as soon as I selected that. I was just looking at all the stuff in the menus and accidently selected the download ROM one.

Have you tried using the programmer and burn a chip and stick that chip into the ECU and see if the interface box would light up correctly? Btw, I believe you need to install a resistor for the heater wires, not a diode.

It is a 1k resistor correct? I was going to wire it inline with the techedge wire I soldered directly to Pin D22 on my ECU. Is this correct? Thanks for the help.
I haven't tried that but Payn Tech said the same thing. Try that. If it works, then the Romulator is fried most likely. I will try that tonight. Any other ideas? Is the interface box suppose to be blinking or on solid?

Burn a chip and put it in your ECU. Chances are you fried the romulator. it happened with our emulator once. I would also suggest you to re-open rom editor and download the rom again.
Did you get the hondata to interface with the techedge wbo2? i am very interested in this setup if you can post some details i would appreciate it. Thanks

JT, How I have it hooked up (the wideband I am talking here) should I put the resistor on the plug I created coming off wideband serial connector then? This would mean only when it is plugged in would the resistor be in use. Agree? Would some pictures help?
Here is what I am going to do tonight:
1) Try a different base map first
2) If #1 doesn't work, then I will burn a chip
3) If this doesn't work, burn the car to the ground. J/K
I will call Hondata now to see what they say. Also, Am I suppose to be "Downloading the ROM" or "Downloading the Current Table" from the emulator menu. I apologize if these are newbie questions but I am still trying to figure everything out with this.
Thanks again guys.

It reads like something in your program changed before you downloaded the whole ROM. Try to download a base map that you know works.
I pray that it is something simple, easy and cheap to fix. (Nothing in this hobby ever is)
Here is a pic from Hondata for WO2 setup. I use a factory type connector to interface with the WO2 sensor, and the resistor is on the connector. The original plug on the harness is not connected at this point. Once tuning is done, I simply reconnect the stock O2 sensor back to the original plug on the harness. Let me know if you need an actual picture of my connector setup. I can get it tonight if necessary.
I only downloaded mine twice since I have had the emulator. I did do an 'Interpolate' of a large area once while the car was running and it died immediatly. I had to undo that change with a big 'whoops!!'
I have a feeling one of your settings got changed like, you clicked 3 bar map sensor on and you didn't mean to, just an example.

Thanks. Also, I called Hondata and Matt said that I need to:
1) Key on
2) Download ROM
3) Key off
4) Key on and move forward
I didn't do this so I will try all of this tonight.
Edit: Wait a minute. COuld I just use a dead O2 plug and put the resistor on then plug it into the stock harness when I using the wideband. Would that work?

You know I noticed that my main relay doesn't click when I hooked up the romulator... At least I don't hear it, I thought that was strange. But it works!!

BINGO! That's exactly how mine is. Btw, that's how it came with my FJO setup.

Update. I tried what hondata said and burned a chip. Nothing. I am so frustrated at this point I just want sell everything. Matt at Hondata told me I must have done something to my ECU now. Guess I will try that. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS PLEASE RESPOND!!
If all else fails you can send the stuff back to us for testing.
Thanks. I will be putting a different ECU in this weekend.
Here is a pic of the O2 sensor plug and the resistor soldered on the black wires. This way you don't have to solder the resistor on the ECU.
