hondata problem

I installed the hondata (2bd) on my OBDI p72, and it isn't working. The p72 was apready chipped, and worked fine before the hondata install. I replaced the 2 chips (they were both already socketed, and I put them in oriented right). I soldered in the 4-pin connector, and there was already 2 capacitors wired in. The j1 was already jumped too. I put it in the car, and the light flashes once and then stays on. It idles like crap and doesn't run right. Once it warms up, it won't idle--- it just dies. I installed 550cc injectors before all of this as well. I installed the old p13 prelude ecu, and it behaves the exact same way as the hondata ecu. The only difference: when I hit the gas quickly, throttle response is immediate with the prelude ecu and takes about 1/2 second with the hondata ecu. I figure its running rich with the 550cc's. Because it runs the same way with both ecu's, my initial guess was that the hondata is not working? Any help (its sunday and hondata isn't open)
Also, datalogging wont work. I click connect, and it just sits there saying 'connecting'
