With Hondata I thought you could run any EDU because basically you're rechipping it to work with a new set-up.

if youre going to stay OBD0 go with the ZDYNE
if you want the hondata, switch to OBD1

if hes going to use the PR3, he cant use a zydyne. PR3 is obd-0 board, with obd-1 brains. I'm not sure if hondata supports it or not.

He will just have to use the older programs, ie; 2b,3b,3b ect. I am doing the same in my non OBD DA.

I have done it before many times.

Problem is on your car is that you can't lamda datalog easily, so I have to do it from my readout only.

Which is really good still, but not super duper duper accurate at all throttle positions.

But I can still tune it good.

you can run the Hondata 2b for the PW0 and PR3 ecu's. I don't know how it will work for a sohc because its for a dohc vtec motor.

Not to sure if it can. Try www.c-speedracing.com they have a Hondata forum and rule at tuning these things. I learned alot from them. Check it out, I hope it helps a little. Goodluck.

Yes, you can do it. I ran a PR3 with a 3 bar map sensor on a boosted 2nd gen CRX Si w/B16A swap. It can control a SOHC engine with no problems either. You will get much more out of the system if you convert to OBD1, but PR3's can be made to work with Hondata reasonably well.

The Obd0 still works of version 2.5 of the rom editor. You cannot run a non vtec motor with a pr3, reason being is that it looks for knock sensor, vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch. As far as physically running the car goes you can bump the vtec to 7000 rpm and tune the map on the low speed cam for your application but you will have a check engine light on at all times and it will not run the greatest. In the version 3.0 you can disable knock sensor and vtec pressure switch but you will still get the vtec solenoid code. If i was you i would not do it. HTH

Doug has stated that it it IS possible to run a non-VTEC engine with the PR3. You will need to do some things to keep the ECU happy so that it won't throw codes for the KS and VTEC solenoid, but it can be done.

Do yourself a favor and convert your crx to obd1. Anyone who has done it with a boosted motor would never consider going back. Once you purchase your Hondata system (s200 etc..) you can move it from ECU to ECU. The only issue is that you cannot buy an s200 PR3. If you got a pr3 4b though, you could just move it over to a p28 ECU.
