Hondata missing parts????? Proper orientation????
Just finished a search and come up with nothing.
Picked up my S200w/boost optio today, got home and laid out everything. Verfying all parts were there. DID NOT open any bags.
Now according to the instructions, it looks like I am missing the 2 ceramic disc capacitors. It also looks like I have an extra resistor. Tan with a single black strip????
And lastly, HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU DETERMINE PROPER ORIENTATION OF THE CHIP SETS??? What is up, down, left, right, or BACKWARDS????? The instruction on the disc it came with are vague at best. "If you plug it in backwards it could damage the chip". So what is right????
Please help
Thanks

the single stripe "resistor" is the jumper for J1.
I would still use the capacitors to provide a little power supply isolation.
you can buy them anywhere.

That's what I found out. The mini disc that came with my S200 said "Hondata S200 Demo Software" but it had not been updated since the old version.

installation is the same. The capacitors are just not necessary, and never really were.

Re: Hondata missing parts????? Proper orientation???? (Spunkster)
The installation is not big thing. I used to work for Alltel as a cell phone repair tech. So soldering teeny, tiny resistorsor and/or chips is nothing new. I even chip some ecu's for my friends. Just trying to figure out if I got shafted on some parts.
Yes you need them, No you dont, Your supposed to go to Radioshack to get them. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????
Whats the deal? Are you guys trying to tell me to call Hondata? That would have been a lot easier.

You already got an answer from Hondata. You didn't get shafted, and you don't need the caps.
We no longer include the caps as they just aren't necessary.
